About the Project

The project aims to improve incomes and strengthen the resilience of members of the Federation of Market Gardening Producer Organizations of Lower Guinea (FOPMA-BG), with a focus on supporting 65% women beneficiaries. The initiative targets key challenges facing smallholder farmers, particularly in the context of climate change, weak market access, and limited institutional capacity.

Objectives:

  1. Strengthen the organization of member producer organizations (POs) through formalization and capacity building, including promotion of women’s leadership.

  2. Scale up agroecological practices for vegetable production (tomato, eggplant, chili, cucumber, okra), ensuring wider adoption of sustainable methods promoted by FOPMA-BG.

  3. Enhance collective marketing and processing of horticultural products to increase producer prices, reduce post-harvest losses, and improve food and nutrition security.
